Re: ??? LSD OIL ???

Either buy the additive or use gear oil with LSD additive in it.

Re: ??? LSD OIL ???

There should be a reference in the fsm on the type of oil . You could just use the full Hypoid from Castrol , I think I've seen it in Auto Zone . Either that , or go to GM and see if they have it for the Trackers, or at least a spec . Their own limited slip oil should work pretty well , since theirs are so touchy .

Re: ??? LSD OIL ???

I'm using Mobil 1 with some Lucas oil stabilizer, both say that it works with most posi/lsd's...........

Haven't had any problems and love the LSD!

Re: ??? LSD OIL ???

Use any gear oil, but make sure to add the Friction Modifier. It comes in a tube or other small container, usually 6-8 oz, and is available at any auto parts store. I use Mobil-1 and the friction modifier all the time when I change the oil, never a problem and the Posi's still function great.

Re: ??? LSD OIL ???

Pennzoil has Gearplus, with the LSD friction additive in it.

Cheap and easy to find.

Whatever you do, DON'T ADD SLICK 50!

Re: ??? LSD OIL ???

It used to be whale oil until the early 70's or so that I'm sure of. Can't imagine that it's still made from whales without Greenpeace campling out at GM dealers across the nation.
