2000 RPM idle?
I have an 87 Samurai that has a 1600 with EFI. The engine is from an 89 Tracker. The engine has been in and running perfectly for a year, until recently. I had a short in the wire that goes to the VSV valves on the front of the engine. The short was causing the computer's fuse to keep blowing. I have fixed the short and have the engine running again now. My problem is that the engine is running at 2000 RPM when warm. I figured that maybe I had blown one of the VSV valves with the short. But, I borrowed my friend's VSV valves and the engine still runs at 2000 RPM. I have also checked all my vacuum lines and they seem fine. In the process of checking vacuum lines, I noticed that if I plugged the line that goes to the vacuum advance on the distributer, that the idle will drop near 1000 RPM. I'm not sure if that's an indication of my problem or not. So I am hoping that someone here has expereinced the same problem and knows what I should do. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
