I can\'t decide on which route to take

I need some help deciding. I have a 88 Samurai. I put new set of rings in my moter after an encounter with a deep mudhole, I drove a 125 miles after the ring job with not one single problem, then all the sudden my rods started rattleing. I have no idea why. My problem is that I can't decide what to do to fix it. I have found a 94 Sidekick that runs like a top, and I can get it for about 700.00. I also found another 88 Samurai that the guy says it runs good just the transfer case hangs up in neutral and I can get it for about 500.00. Or should I just have my crankshaft turned? The catch is I need to have it trail ready in four weeks.
Any words of wisdom would be helpful.

I would buy them both, the sammy t-case problem is just the shifter sheet, and you can make a profit. Then get the kick/tracker for the engine.

well man, if it were me, id go wit the sidekick route just cause the motor is there, complete n ready to bolt into your zuk, somebody on here had a adapter for 75 if i remember right in the last week or 2, check the parts for sale post. then, you also got the rest of the kick to cabbage parts off for your zuk, or resell em n recoup some of your investment. plus, you gots everything to go EFI too....
