thinking of going with KAD DS and not YOTA.

howdy,
awhile back i got a 1981 toyota front cv ds. and i have run into alot of problems. now i am thinking of going with a KAD DS from RRO instead of my yota ds. this means that i could sell the spare axle housing i have, sell the yota ds, and my stock 4 month old rear ds, and not have to buy new 14mm flanges, spoa perches, shock mounts, new seals, new bearings, and new felts.
and now i need to find out if anyone runs a KAD ds from RRO. anyone? are they any good?

so with cjs and ml's, you wouldn't recomend going with the yota shaft?

Re: thinking of going with KAD DS and not YOTA.

howdy,
it could work if you went with an later model front yota cv ds. then you need to find out the clapsed length and expanded length, then you would need to find out if the bolt holes would fit on you flanges that you would need to redrill. then you need to open up the flanges center holes to fit the locator stub. then you would need to line up you pinion to acommonidate the cv. it would cost much less than an afteramrket cv ds, and you need to line up the pinion with any cv ds.
i don't misspell, i just have fun with my words!

Yeah, let me know---after reading the first thread on this I ran out & bought a '81 d/s. I'm runnin' cjs rear w/ M/Ls---w/ tracker rear end. My friend has a 88.5 w/ big flanges---he said he'd swap me the t-case one if I needed it. Flop it around & re-drill ain't it---don't tell me I've done F'd up again!!!! Brad.

Re: thinking of going with KAD DS and not YOTA.

The KAD drive shaft from RRO is the same as the SUMO shaft from Asian Auto Parts of AZ. Both are made by Arizona Drive Lines. Asian Dave's new location is in the same building as Arizona Drive Lines, and usually he has the lowest prices on the shafts. Jim, call me sometime just to BS and update me on what your doing with your rig.
