I had a bull pine tree fall 2 weeks ago on my deck and both daily drivers. Tracker was totalled and wifes jeep had 2500.00 damage.I bought the tracker back from ins. company for 300.00 been thinking about putting some toy axles under it and running it offroad. It has 3" body and 2.5" pro comp lift. check out attachment.
turn it into a rig. now you don't have to worry about body damage. maybe go with all the buzz on the board rite now about sammi front axle under front.
and i must say wow that is awful close to the house.
Shoot, it ain't hardly scratched. That front bumper had to go anyway, to put in a winch! That is WAY too close to the house!!! Time for some chain-saw maintenance in them woods! (Yeah listen to me tell you what to do, when I've got 60 foot trees all around my house!)
Yes it is a good platform to build off of. Alot is the same or close to the samis so it is familier. The tracker engine with a standard lugs better down low (Heavier flywheel than a sami I think) Toy axles will be fairly easy as the centered diff won't
make the swap hard from a driveshaft point. I know i am having a good time with mine so far (Just starting, makinf bumpers and rails ) and getting ready to swap in an Auto trans.
I honestly don't know but with the gear reduction I will have there shouldn't be too much stress on it, that and I am installing the largest cooler I could find. And I will be swapping to syntetic trans fluid in the spring.
I really want the auto for ease of driving both on and off.
(I am spoiled by my 4 door..) Before the back surgury I had a big problem with the clutch in the rocks, I have most of my feeling back now so It isn't such a big deal but I still
want the auto.
