Well if johny law gets you he had better pick up all the street legal dune buggys also. I personally am tubing mine but it will suit my needs as it is not a daily dr. I would do probably pic up the cheapest and good condition tub and just swap.

How about a pic, or description of the rust. Those of us here on the west coast don't have that problem.
The only rust I have is where I've done custome rock work and not painted it over, and then it's very
minor surface rust

then i must tell you that i have no or vary little rockers left. not to mention that the drivetrain tunnel is rusted out from the t-case knob to firewall. also i had to remove the bed and now i have weld in another one. and i replaced the front fenders last winter.

Re: poll on what i should do about my body tub problem

dude..i speak from experience....if you patch all that stuff up it WILL come back...find another tub and start over. Its well worth the extra money to avoid the headache of body work. I got a tin top and it was worse then yours...mine has no rockers..literally.....the tranny tunnel is rusted from bed to firewall....the drivers side pan is rusted like yours but has a 4" wide band all the way around that is literally no longer there...just a big gaping hole....and it was rusting around the windshield...you will have just as much money in welding wire, gas, and griding wheels...not to mention time....just figure the amount of time it will take you to fix all of that and charge yourself $10/hr and see what you come up with...and thats at a pay cut compared to what a body shop would charge you. i know your probably thinking that "my time isnt worth much" ive said that myself many times....but in retrospect of the project at hand the amount of time it will take to fix the body will cut into the time you got to do other things (suspension mods, the tank you posted about in the other thread, etc...). and the cut will be very significant....

ok off my soap box now and back to listening to my old tub rust from the PA road salt....

Just keep asking about rustfree tubs for sale until you find one for a decent price within driving distance. You should be able to find one down south.

Re: poll on what i should do about my body tub problem

Ouch, ok I just replied to the survey. Get a rust free tub. 2nd choice would be to tube it. Like I said, out
here on the west coast we don't have that problem. It's amazing the difference I have seen as I travel in
my job. On the west coast rust is not a problem unless you are within 1 - 2 miles of the pacific ocean. The
midwest is icreasingly worse as you approach the Missippi then it gets bad again on the East coast

Re: poll on what i should do about my body tub problem

Jimzuki,
glad to hear your back on your ankle again. ANyway, CAPN CRUNCH has a tub for sale on the bbs. Check it out. HEY, like six months ago Rocky Road outfitters stated that they would be offering Fiberglass body tubs for zuks. And that prices and pics would be up "soon." That was four months ago and still no word? I know they will cost about a grand, but they never rust! Anyone ask rocky road what ever happened? They had it in their "IN THE WORKS" section of the web site, and it has since vanished. Whats UP?
