emmisions

ok my zuk didnt pass emissions cause it had a leak in the fuel vapor system somewhere. so i took it apart today to replace the filler neck and noticed that there is a small plastic tank above the filler neck on the inside of the bed. now im thinking this is probably an overflow but im not sure. am i right? and does this affect the vapor system? could this be my leak?thnx

Re: emmisions

If that plastic tank is cracked, it is the source of the problem. I just pass the smog test, at first they wouldn't even test it. I had to replace the exhaust system from the cat back.

Re: emmisions

I think it depends on who is running the test. My tail pipe was cut off just under the bumper where it had been crushed. They didn't like that, then they found a hole in my muffler so I had to replace it all. Went back with a new muffler and a stock tail pipe and they were happy to test it then...

Re: emmisions

That little tank is part of the vapor recovery and tank vent system. It allows any liquid fuel to
drain back to the tank as well.
