Which toyota driveshaft to get?

Hi,
I will soon be putting toyota axles under my Samurai, and figured a Toyota CV drive shaft is in order. I've heard lots of good things about this swap, but it's been unclear as to which toyota drive shaft to get. The article on Izook says they used a rear shaft from a '90-'95 extended cab IFS pickup, but I thought the front shaft was to be used. Which front drive shaft should I get to make a rear shaft for my samurai? What year, model, IFS or solid axle, etc? So far I've located an '85 toyota truck/4 runner front shaft, an '82 Toyota truck front shaft, and an 87 4 runner front shaft. These all have CV joints. Will any of them work? Thanks, Anton

Re: Which toyota driveshaft to get?

I used an '83 front shaft ('82 should be the same). It was the correct length, just had to redrill the flanges and make the center hole bigger on the flange to fit the driveshaft ridge

82 and 83 fronts have more droop/angle persay in the shaft then the newer IFS style pretty much anyone one from 82- present would work but the earlier years are prefered

Ok, thanks for the input, I'll go with the 82/83 shaft.

Re: Which toyota driveshaft to get?

84 is a little longer and larger bolt flage pattern but it would work
