selectable locker-vac-air-elec

Howdy.

In my new issue of Petersens offroad there is an article about a german company which is moving to the USA to start marketing their selectable lockers. They currently are vacuum operated (can use engine vacuum) but also offer an air operated version. Electric operated is coming soon.

here's the link: http://www.killeraxles.com/index.html

they don't currently list anything for the samurai or tracker or toy axles, but they claim on the website that if they get 30 orders they will make the locker for any application within 2 months. I know if I am ever going to have lockers on my rig they are going to have to be 100% selectable. The prices are out of my range at the moment (just under 700$) but aren't any less realistic than ARBs since you don't need an air pump to run them.

I plan to write a nice email to the company, complete with punctuation and correct spelling, expressing my interest in a version for the Samurai. I can point out that ARB already offers one and that's obviously some of their competition at this time. Maybe if the folks from this board all write to them asking about lockers for the samis or tracker/kicks or whatever, it will get them thinking about it anyways. Their current offerings are for the usual range of Dana axles and the GM 12 and 14 bolts seem to be next up.

I'd be interested in an electric one for the 12-bolt Sidekick 7.5" diff. That would make a killer hybrid, Sidewinder or Suzana.

Re: selectable locker-vac-air-elec

I just went on a run with someone who installed them on his Jeep. They preformed flawlessly, and I was impressed. Sitll, a bit pricey, but not that far out of line compared to the ARB or OX. Oh well, Santas coming and we can all hope.
