I have a few question about 78-79 Jeep Truck Axle

I have a friend that has both front and rear D44's out of a 78-79 ish Jeep Truck. Will this be a good swap? How wide are these? I think these a disk front and drum rears.
And I am not sure what ratios are...Any clues?

I don't quite know how wide they are but if I had to guess I would say about 6" wider than sami axles. I would guess htay are 3.73 gears. And if you could get them super cheap or free I would say go for it. But of course you need to think about the weight you are adding if you do a lot of mud bogs aor sand dunes you may want to consider somthing lighter or plan for a motor swap in the future.

Well he offered them for $100.00
I don't ride on sand. Just rocks and logging roads and strip roads. Want something stronger for a project.
I have a 88 soft top that I want to tube and motor swap.
Just wondering if they would be to wide.
I also want to lenghten my wheelbase.

I know all about them, after all, they are Jeep.

Yes, the front has discs, and the rear drums. You never mentioned what they came out of though, a J-10 or J-20. I am assuming J-10, they have 6 on 5.5 bolt patten, 11" drum brakes, 12" disc front brakes, are D44's, have 3.07 gears optional and 3.54's standard (not the other way around). They are about 63" wide. A good buy for $100, no doubt about it.

I just got off the phone with him. He said they was J10's
not sure what gears they are. Darn it I wished they wasn't so wide. That is the same size as a full size truck. Someone around town here said that was the same axles in the older chevy's.
