Re: who really makes this lift kit???

They probally both cut the same picture out of the same magazine. Read the litature. Calmini is selling there own brand, or what was built for them. RRO is selling Old Man Emeu, A bit pricy, but top quaility. Built in Austalia, where Zukes are king.

Re: who really makes this lift kit???

howdy,
from what i know from Bryan Ziegler is that his truck is running the calmini kit. i'm not much for calmini products, but i have seen alot of stuff from rro that is just someone else made over then they add the rro overkill and sell it. makes you wonder if anyone is getting pattens any more. most of the stuff i got in my rro kit was someone else's at one time.

Re: who really makes this lift kit???

That is absolutely hilarious!!!

First, let me say that there is no love between these two vendors. Second, there is a big difference between the products offered by them.

Rocky Road Outfitters sells Old Man Emu springs, struts, and shocks, that give the Sidekick 1-1/2" of lift, then they augment that with 1" coil spacers, to get 2-1/2" of lift. They lift the existing suspension.

Calmini has somebody else make their springs, struts, and shocks to their specifications (just like RRO), then they add in longer A-Arms in the front, and new trailing-arms and upper link in the rear. Basically, they replace the entire suspension.

The fact that both these vendors display the same photo is an oversight, I'm sure, that one of them will probably correct. I have a photo of my Kick displayed on the RRO site, as I got my Safari Snorkel from them. I could also have my Kick displayed on Calmini's site (but I don't - they haven't asked), as I got just about everything else from them, including the 6" lift, the front bumper, all the belly-armour, and (if they ever get around to making it) the rear bumper.

Yeah, that definitely looks like Calmini A-Arms.

Re: who really makes this lift kit???

I like that pre-runner type front bumper. I know he had that custom made. Think RRO is coming out with one someday. Spidertax has a nice one but just for sammi's.
