need help fast, transfer case lever jammed

Trying to get ready to leave to moab. My transfer case lever was jammed and seemingly in neutral. Ok, no big deal it's the sheet. Take it all apart, sure enough sheet is disintergrated. Remove whats left and test fit the lever back in, still jammed. The notches on the shift rails are slightly offset, the right-hand side rail is slightly forward of the left one. I tried moving the rails with a big screwdriver but they are jammed tight!! Can anyone help???

are your front hubs unlocked? sometimes mine will act goofy with the hubs locked. if that aint it, make sure the right rail is pushed toward the rear of the truck, and the other two are lined up. that should put you into 2wd. other than that i dunno!! good luck, take lots of pics at Moab...
