White letters or Blackwalls?

Hi all. The wife and I were having a discussion this evening... she likes white letters out on the tires, and I like blackwalls. I play in the rocks, and I think rocks will chew up the white letters over time. She says blackwalls out with black wheels is just too plain. So, which way do you guys mount your tires? TIA

Re: White letters or Blackwalls?

I'm blackwall fan, but the tire and rims I bought had the letters out so I left them. Jim

I am a "White-Letters-Out" man personally. But don't worry, your Zuk will still be pretty no matter which way you mount the letters. I guess the way I think of it is like this, Would Cindy Crawford look better with or without painted nails?

Nope, gotta change to 15x8 wheels when I get new tires, and the cheapest ones I've seen with custom backspacing (rockcrawlers) come powdercoated in black. I'd get white ones if I could find them. And definitely NO CHROME!

Re: White letters or Blackwalls?

I go for the white letters. Just adds something to the overall appearance, especially if it is a name brand like BFG. Both my rides currently sport BFGs with raised white letters on the tires. And I have not had any problems with the letters fading or getting scrapped off. A little Simple Green and some elbow grease and they always look great.

Blackwalls out.....it gives the illusion of the tires being bigger than they are. White letters break up the visual image of the tires, making them seem smaller........

Innie.

This thread is from a while ago. It turned into a flame war as did many of the posts with swamper in them.
Thread.
