vented front disks ?

has anyone ever converted their front to vented disks and then used the front stuff they had to do rear disks. i was tring to find a suitable donar, but so far the only thing i have found was a f150. the caliper mounts were part of the spindle. i usually use my rug for hauling fire wood out of some realy bad spots with a small trailer, and am looking for some serious over kill on the brakes. i was figurig on doing a brake on the input shaft of the transfercase so it would be stronger due to the 4 to 1 gears but i am also wanting to convert the rears to disk and thought why not go with bigger disks and calipers on the front I am also working on a new trailer that has tandem axles and brakes on both of them that will hopefully help alot.

Re: vented front disks ?

Hi! I understand that the early model V-6, 2000c.c. engine Vitara/Sidekick has a ventilated rotor
and a caliper that fits in the stock front Samurai caliper bracket. You have to use the Vitara calipers
as well as the brake rotors are slightly larger in diameter also.

Post your progress here so we can see what's the outcome as I've not taken the initiative myself to hunt for
a set of these rotors and calipers as they are very hard to come by here. Most Vitaras are 1600 cc. here.
