32 x 11.50s on 15 x 7 wheels?

Every manufacturer that I have found for a 32 x 11.50 tire recommends using an 8"-10" wheel for this tire size......well, I have 15 x 7s and want to go with a 32" - will the combo be safe / work properly, etc.?

TIA

Seen it done many times before. Handling won't be optimal. I think unless you have 1-2" BS, springs might be a problem.

Re: 32 x 11.50s on 15 x 7 wheels?

Well, I run my 31x11.5 Rikens on 7" rims as daily driver tires, and they're awesome. No problems with anything, and even tire wear. I leave the Swampers for the trail and flat tow (at speeds up to 85 mph) thousands of miles a year with these. I do swap them out (obviously), but they would be fine for wheeling if the tires were better.

Re: 32 x 11.50s on 15 x 7 wheels?

I was wondering the same thing. I decided to go with the swamper 31x11.50 LTB's. Before I buy them I wanted to ask if they were going to rub my springs if I used some cj rims my friend is giving me. I'm not sure if they are a 7" or 8". Jeepn how far out do the 11.50's stick out of the wheelwell? What's the back spacing on those rims? I'm I going to need to add a wider flare? Thanks!

Well, they might pass, but then they might not. The rims are just el-cheap ones I bought many many moons ago for my Scout II (bought them in '86 I think), so the backspacing is stock, like 3.5" or 3.75". Here are a few good end shots of them with the lawn edging fender flares I added just in case. I don't think I have any of the tires on it without the lawn edging.

Sorry, no 35's, I had the 33's bias and radials, 32's, 31's, and 29's. I sold the 29's though, still have the rest. I also have 235's, but nothing bigger than a 33.
