Pics of my ride

These are pics of my 92 after a 5.5" SPOA. The tires are 33x12.5's on 15x10 2" BS wheels borrowed from the CJ next to it. It was a good test....no way these things will fit unless a sawzall is involved! I think 32x10.50 swamper radials would be a better choice. Anyone know how the swampers would clear the springs and body on 15x8 w/ 3.5BS?

Re: Pics of my ride

What size are those Wuss tires? If they're 235/75/15 then you just made up my mind to lift before I can afford tires. It doesn't look all that bad.

Re: Pics of my ride

They are 255-70-15's. 10" wide and 1/2" taller than a 235. My wife's has 235's. Her is a pic on flat ground for better ref.

Re: Pics of my ride

I say go with the 33s and cut to fit. I have 33x12.5 swampers on my sami and they only rub a little bit at full compression in the front. I did have to do a little (ok, alot) of hammer work on both the front and the rear fenders, and my front axle is an inch or two forward, but I would never go back. You will need the 2" backspace wheels to clear the springs with the 33s. I have 3.5" plus 1.5" wheel spacers which puts me at 2" and I can still get the swampers to rub the spring a little at full lock with the tire up against a rock. keep in mind that the SSR's run a little big compared to other 33s. Before I got the 33s, I was running the 32x10.5 swamper radial on 15x8 wheels with 3.5" backspacing and had no clearance problems after I beat the fenders.

Re: Pics of my ride

What suspension configuration were you running with the 32's? When I install the new bumper and tires, I will move the front axle 1" forward and massage the pinch welds. Will this give me enough room without rubbing. My ride is so clean and strait...I don't want tires tearing up the body. Those 33's sticking out 7" past the fenders looked cool, but the cops around here would have a problem with that.

You'll never take me alive COPPER....See....

Re: Pics of my ride

I am running the 33X12.50 swamper R's (wich are closer to 32")
You can put bump stops on or go to the 32 (wich may messure a 31")
I have rear's up front and YJ's in the rear.
I can just rub the paint off, and pop the plastic off

Re: Pics of my ride

Hybrid rear, 4.62's, 32" swampers, cut and rotate front knuckles, Yota cv driveshaft for front, and torsion bar type anti sway-bar w/ disco's.

Any more ideas? Turbo? Nitrous?
