Tires on stock rims

Hey guys I'm making my Sami a thick forest/huntin' truck. I don't need a wide tire going through all those trees, but what's the widest tire that I could put on a stock Samurai wagon wheel?

The wheel measures 15"x5" I think. Would a 31"x10.5" or 30"x9.5" fit?

Thanks!

Re: Tires on stock rims

I am running 30 x 9.50 on the 88 here. They measure like 29.4 inches. I run 18 lbs of air in them and all the tread don't touch the road. Your stock wheels should be 5 1/2 wide.

I also had 30X9.5's on my stock rims...worked well. I guy I worked with had 31X10.5's on his stock wheels, but it just didn't look right.

Re: Tires on stock rims

on my old ladys tintop zuk. i have 33x12.5 bfgs on stock rims with a 5.5"spoa. rear kick axle throws the stock rims at least 2.5" past the flares on each side. in front 5/16" aluminum spacers from pepboys $6 each. im also gonna bolt the rims on backwards once i get a couple shorty valve stems.. you won't have to worry about blowing beads off with this setup.

Re: Tires on stock rims

I have some 32x11.5 BFG's mounted on the stock rims as well, and while they would suck onthe road, they would work in the woods. I am running 32x9.5 tires on my stock rims, they they work and look awesome.
