Indiana's first state-regulated facility for off-highway-vehicles, in the Redbird area north of Dugger, is tentatively scheduled to open next June.
Rowda said once finished, the facility will have a gatehouse and there will be a charge to get in.
"The charge hasn't been determined yet, but it will be competitive with other OHV parks in the Midwest," he noted.
Once open, the tentative dates for the facility to be open will be April 1 to Dec. 1 of each year, Rowda noted. "It will only be open Fridays through Mondays," he added.
Rowda said prohibiting riding during the coldest months, when there would be very few riders anyway, "gives the land some time to rest during the winter.
"We had an idea that the first year, we'd only be open these four days, Fridays through Mondays, because those are the peak days," he said. "We have limited funds and we have to manage the business accordingly."
The facility will be open only during the daylight hours.
