My alternator (spelling) went out on the way home from work on tuesday. I just took the old one out, and what a pain. There is no space to work. What a knuckle buster. I do not know how I am going to get the new one in. What a P.I.T.A. Does anyone know of an easy way to get it back together. I have an A/C unit which has hoswes and tubes restricting my access. I took off the top rediator hose and the warm air tube from the shroud over the exaust to the air intake box.

Re: Alternator

Well i've always removed it from the bottom. Remove that plastic guard under the stearing dampner area & you can manage it out of there. I don't think you have to remove anything else to clear the way for the alt. Thats what works for me anyway. It's much faster IMO.

Re: Alternator

If you remove the bottom alternator bracket it falls right out.
