Distributor oil leak

Thanks to Pugrocker we have the answer to the question to the mystery oil leak. It is the distributor housing o-ring!
I picked one up at the dealership for $.97 and didn't get to put it in before my buddy showed up in his tracker asking about the oil on the top of his tranny. Needless to say, I have to go back to the dealership and get another.

The GM part # is: 96057734

This link is detailed on the procedure

It took about 3 minutes to change!

NOTE: Be sure to mark the rotor position to save time on the timing!

Re: Distributor oil leak

I even put a small bead of black RTV around the seal for good measure. Where would we be without RTV, JB Weld, and Duct tape?

Re: Distributor oil leak

heh, i just saw on the news that duct tape is now a proven medical tool for removing warts! it's not that they rip them off, but somehow the tape irritates it and the antibodies kill it off or something like that... said it is 85% effective
