Gun rack mounting locations

Who has gun racks in their Zuks? My rifle is about two inches longer than my Zuk is wide. Anybody got a picture or instructions of how they rigged up some sort of rack. Any way to hang one rigidly from the roll bar on a softtop?

Re: Gun rack mounting locations

Just mount it on top of the targa bar.
Rat Patrol style.

Re: Gun rack mounting locations

I've always wanted a .50 cal belt-fed machine gun mounted on a swivel on top of the targa bar...

Re: Gun rack mounting locations

There arent any good places, just comprimise ones. Do both you and a shtogun passenger
need a rack? I removed one pass side dash screw and replaced it with a REALLY long wood
screw with similar threads to hold one "U" type holder. It has to have a strap or small bungee
though as the gun will pop out.

I also hose clamped one to the pass side roll bar upright and that one needs the same strap
treatment. Both of these are in reach of me.

Or you could switch to handgun hunting and pad the space between the seats.
Mostly thats were my gun goes!

I plan to try a different cradle type on the roll bar diagonal sometime.

All are comprimises and are somewhat in the way, espesially the one on the pass roll bar as
it is in the way of rear seat passengers somewhat.

Some of this depends on gun length. long goose gun or short carbine? Both, or somewhere in between?
