This is a Long Shot but...

Does anyone have or know where I can find a replacement rear window to this aftermarket hardtop.

http://www.tomsautos.com/SUV/suv.72.jpg

Mine is the same as the one in the picture. The guy who sold me the sami shattered the window and said that he could not find a replacement anywhere. He said that the company that made this hard top stopped making them. I really like the hard top but it kind of loses its advantages without the rear window.

Also, If I cant find a window would it be illegal to make one out of plexy glass? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: This is a Long Shot but...

unless you find an identical one that someone has for sale, you will probabally have to make that one out of plexiglass. i don't know of any legal reasons why you couldn't do it, but i am an xray tech and not a lawyer. i had the same de-limma (lol) with a pickup truck camper top i had. i had a local glass shop cut one for me for about $50. this was about 4 years ago. luckily i had the frame and it was an easy project. it did scratch very easily and i ended up tinting it DARK.

Re: This is a Long Shot but...

Does this window attatch to the tailgate or does it attatch to the top and lift up? I know someone who has one that attatches to the tailgate but he wants $100.00 for it and is non negotiable. I tried to buy it a while ago. I can't guarantee that his one will fit but I'll see what I can do if you are interested. Email me at [email protected]

i believe that modle has a window frame like a camper shell if it is still there go to your local glass or plastic shop they should run between 50 and 80 bucks to put plexiglas in it

Re: This is a Long Shot but...

The window attatches to the top of the window frame like the hard top jeep rear window. The hinges have screws that screw through the window to attach it. Is it legal to put a plexi glass window in replace of a glass window? I have heard that plexi glass splinters when it breaks. Thanks.

You can go to a glass shop and they will cut you a oiece of laminated safety glass (The same exact glass that they put in the windshields) I used this glass in my windshield and they charged me $100.00 for it.

howdy,
i have a buddy that works for Ryhn's Auto Glass here in ohio. he said that "any auto glass replacer can make or order any type, shape, or tint window and if they can't then they aren't worth their weight in p!ss."
