Tremclad Paint?

I am going to be painting my Samurai soon and was thinking of using tremclad paint. Anyone have any words of wisdom for me? The reason that I would go with a tremclad and not something else is that I will be 4 wheeling with the truck and wanna keep the soon to be scratched paint job cheap.

Re: Tremclad Paint?

I have also found out that Tremclad will fade horribly... Is this true. Are there other paints that are tougher. I will be spraying it on via compressed air so I can do most anything..

Re: Tremclad Paint?

I've used Tremclad on a couple of vehicles. It seems to stand up quite well and doesn't seem to fade too bad--except perhaps the red (depending on the prigment they used). I used a brush and it tended to show streaks, so a spray should be much better, or you can add a little Penetrol to make it gone on a little smoother--especially in cooler weather. Seems to help control rust better than many other products.
