X90 Bull Bar

Finally got some pictures up of the X90 and the Bull Bar setup.... some guys were asking about it. No cool action shots from Rubicon unfortunately. These were just taken on the side of the road heading into work.

If the UBB picture doesn't work, just click on the links.

Re: X90 Bull Bar

You started working on yours yet Scott? How's that automatic?

Its kinda funny, but since we put a X90 specific page up on our website this Summer, we've probably sold close to 20 combo lift kits for them. I remember when people paughed at a lifted Samurai. That's not alot of kits, but it looks like the X might be starting to catch on a bit.

Re: X90 Bull Bar

Glen,
Not modifying yet... Just getting her cleaned up and tuned up. And getting to know how its built. Similar to my Samurai, but newer and different. I love the EFI.
Well, I'd rather have had the 5-speed, but the automatic isn't too bad.
I hope to be getting the kit from you next spring and then tires and then..... well, however far it goes... Anyway, I'd like to have it ready for next year's ZookiMelt. Not going to be a hard-core offroader, just mildly built. Thinking of enough suspension lift to get 29"-30" MT BajaBelted tires on. Did you re-gear for your tires? Does it need it? I know the stock diff gears are 4:62's. Is that enough?

That looks great Glenn. I like it it. If all of us had a road like that heading into work, the world would be a much happier place

Now that I think about it, we do have apretty nice drive. 1/2 is by a creek with huge trees, 1/4 is by the lake, the other 1/4 is cow pastures and "Main Street USA". :^)

Sounds like we might have an X-contigent there!

>29-30" BajaBelted tires on. Did you re-gear for your tires? Does it need it? I know the stock diff gears are 4:62's. Is that enough?

I did regear. I put in the 5.12's I had from my Sidekick. I wouldn't say the regearing was mandatory. However, I did want to be able to tow our offroad trailer cross-country and maintain 75-80 mph. The lower gears allow this. If you're coming from a Samurai though, you won't be disappointed with the power and stock gears. The thing still boogies.

I also want to make it a very offroad capable vehicle. The lower diff gears helped a bit, but the most dramatic change came from the 4.3:1 low tcase gears.

When I go up to 31" tires next Spring, I'll try and track down a set of 5.38 diffs. The 5.12's will be up for grabs then, sans ARB's :^)
