Re: cheapest way to ship an engine.

Did you try the post office - if they will handle the size of it - they are usually cheaper than UPS and FEDEX. They are the only shipping "company" that I know that looses money evey year and still manages to stay in business.....got to love this country

BTW - my buddy is getting anxious about the pricing.......When you find out just shoot me an email.

TIA

Re: cheapest way to ship an engine.

Check the local commercial shippers. Longblock gti was 100 dollars shipped like 700 miles.

Re: cheapest way to ship an engine.

I shipped two short blocks, 3 heads and a flywheel in two separate boxes via FexEx GROUND earlier this spring for some suprisingly low price -- something like $45 for the both of them.

Now if I could only get the company I sent them to to acknowledge the shipment and make the core refund as promised... Dave?

Re: cheapest way to ship an engine.

I know Asian Auto quoted me like $50-$55 to ship one, when I called them to get a price on an engine.....They prolly get a better rate being a company but $100 should about do it I would think for something weighing only 150 pounds or so.Check UPS if ya havent already.

Oh...and if it gets around to me on the list I could prolly drive up and pick it up if the shipping is gonna be too much...only like a 5-6 hour drive, plus I could use a little vacation
