Need a little help with this SJ tcase please

I have an 82 SJ410K, I just got it recently and I'm wondering if there's a problem with the tcase. It shifts in kind of a H pattern but only will engahe gears in the right side of the H, and that seems to be 4low and 4high. I can't seem to find 2high. This is not my first 4x4 but it is my first suzuki and any help is appreciated.
By the way this truck has the old fulltime hubs.

2 hi should be to the left and all the way forward. It should be more of a U pattern, if it's H some one may have done the remove a detent ball trick to get 2 low.

Even if someone did that, it still should go to 2hi, right?

Is there something I can do?

You may need a shifter sheet for the xfer. Its a rubber donut that keeps the linkage tight.

I just checked it more closely. It goes into 2 low and 2 high. 2 low is right and all the way forward, 2 high is right and back..

So no 4 wheel drive.
