1.6L 8V Tracker Engine For Sale

It came out of a 92 and had 42K miles on it. I have put another 10K on it since I have owned it. This engine is still in the Samurai but it only takes roughly an hour to pull it out. No carbs or intake since I sold my 40mm Mikunis. Comes with the 1.3L distributor but it needs a new o-ring. Includes correct starter, clutch, and alternator. I do not know what the cylinder comression is but can get a tester if needed. I will not ship - sorry but I just do not have the time to remove the engine myself and crate it. I can throw in a Calmini adapter kit for an extra $100. A modified Pacesetter header from a 1.3L for $20. Located in Southern Maryland. First $250 and it is sold as-is. Do not send a PM because I never check them. Please e-mail or simply respond to this post.

If you would get a compression test and would ship it I would be very very interested. It's just too far from Bowling Green, KY.
I would pay all shipping and maybe and packageing cost.

The wife said to get rid of one of the following:

A. 2002 Dodge Ram
B. 2002 Harley Davidson
C. 1987 Samurai

Sorry guys, but it wasn't too hard of a decission for me... and no, this option was not available:

D: Wife!

I still plan to visit the board every once in a while. I really met some cool people here. It reminds me a lot of the old aircooled VW community. Anyone that messes with old VWs knows exactly what I am talking about.

But just wait until she finds out that I have already bought one of these again and have it stashed at a friends house! Hey Capn, if you still have that complete VW engine block, bring it down with you next trip. Thanks...

Re: 1.6L 8V Tracker Engine For Sale

I haven't owned a VW that has been tagged to run on the street in over ten years. The only VW that I build these days runs only a 1/4 mile at a time - QUICK!

The bug I bought was a 57 standard. The pans and heater channels are solid but pretty much everything else is missing. Sounds like another race car in the makings!

This is a friends car who I pit for since I gave up racing back in 2000. The seafoam green car was mine and the yellow one is his. Looks like he is going to have to find someone else to help him next year.

Hey Tim,

That VW motor's yours. I'll bring it down this week. Looks like ya' got a heck of a project. I've always likes the split window bugs.

Hey, if you want me to strip the Zuk for you I'm willing to do that. I know your free time is limited. I could come down, strip and list on eBay for you.
