The LT's are usually a higher load range and stronger sidewalls, more tread plies. P metric tires are made for sissy mall cruiser psuedo trucks.

Re: Differance between a P tire and LT tire

Thanks for the replys, I sorta figured that. I have some P's on my truck right now. Bridgestone Dueler AT's, they're great tires as far as all terrains go. Here in Hawaii they get alot of use on sharp Rocks and I haven't punctured or bruised the sidewall yet. Here's a drivway pic of it (I don't take my digicam offroad, well haven't yet anyway) Spose I might bust one when I get it back to Oregon though. They seem like tough tires.

Re: Differance between a P tire and LT tire

Guess I've got a sissy mall cruiser truck too.

I couldn't justify the extra $100 for the set of 4 to go up to LT's. All the specs were very close, and the ply rating isn't that much different. If we were talking a 4x4 that rust wasn't slowly killing and weighed a bit more, like the Dodge Ram 2500 I'm shopping for, then I'd DEFINATELY go for an LT tire. Not like they make a P metric in anything big enough for a Ram anyways.............but you get my point.

Just for your info..I have a Nikon Coolpix 990 that I carry with me EVERYWHERE, including on my trail rides. I drive upwards of 200 miles a day, too, and it is always with me.

I let mine float around in a big 50$ sears leather camera bag that holds all the rest of the junk I want to carry around, too. (wallet, meds, extra batteries, pocket PC, leatherman wave, laser pointer, tire gauge, checkbook, blah blah blah)

if you wonder about the quality after all this "abuse" just check here:
