Keep stock carb or get a Weber?????

I am so tempted to get a Weber for my Zook, but right now my stock carb seems to be running fine....I have seen alot of posts about the positive things a Weber does (more power, gets rid of extra hoses and emissions stuff)but I also see alot of posts about not being able to get them tuned in right......

Should I just stick with the factory carb till it lays down on me or get a Weber???

Re: Keep stock carb or get a Weber?????

"If it ain't broke, dont fix it" applies here. Webers are a good carb, but can have some issues with tuning and how they run on trail. If your carb was trash I would have a different answer. Make sure it has the tube on the vent, and you should be set.

Like PUG said go FI.
But if you stay with a carb I would keep the stock one.
They work great, I had a Weber on my FJ40.
That is why I went FI.

Re: Keep stock carb or get a Weber?????

Ride out the stock carb as long as you can. If you like tinkering then get a Weber as they require a lot of fine tuning. The webers do stall out on steep inclines but a lot of guys are running electric fuel pumps with fuel pressure regulators and say it really helps. I had a lot of trouble with my weber at first but after I got it tuned properly it runs very well. If you want to keep it simple and cheap then get a Pony, not sure about the power increase but it has to be better than stock.

I agree with all and keep the stock carb!.....I Go on trail with a lot of guys that run the webber and all have problems.
The stall oout on steep hill, and they wont restart.
U can mount it backwards but then it stall going down steep hill's.....

I would also keep the stock one until it gives you problems. Mine crapped out so I went Pony, and it was an awesome swap. I gained more power, no doubt about it, and no issues on hills or off-camber.
