Re: starters? do they interchange? got one?

i beg to differ

brad yes it will work but you have to grind it just a bit,
also almost everthing from the 1.3 will work on a 1.6

so if you want to run a v-grove belt you can
if you have any questions i have some pics

Re: starters? do they interchange? got one?

all i know is that it is on the starter closest to the block
it's not my zuk so i really do not know (sorry)
abuddy was sold a rem 1.3 block and when he got it home it was a rem 1.6 16v block for 200.00 (what a score) so he took everthing from his 1.3 and put it on the 1.6. he had to get a 1.6 time belt and top and bottom timing gear he cut the 1.3 cover to make it fit. and i cut and welded the oil pick up for him and he gutted the 1.3 oil pan. on the crank pully you can only use the one hole and have to redrill the others i would sujest the 1.6 idle pully inside but add a lil spring and the 1.3 will work

Re: starters? do they interchange? got one?

Just did this adaptation with a friend. Put in the 1.6 with 1.6 head. Used the 1.3 flywheel, starter and V pulleys. You can either grind the starter or the 1.6 block. I recommend grinding the block. Then if you eveer have to change the starter, it's a 10 minute swap. If you grind the starter and it goes bad in the future better hope you're at home or somewhere with a grinder. Where to grind? It's a trial fit
