2drt. tracker brakes vs. 4dr. brakes...

Hey All,
I posted this earlier, but I should clairify a few things. I have a 97' Tracker 2dr. convertible without ABS ( according to the manual it was an option for this year). I just bought it from a friend who says she just had the brakes serviced. I've had the car a month now and have twice had need to lockup the brakes (people stopping short in front of me) it will NOT! The brakes are just plain patehetic. What I want to know is if the 4dr. brakes with vented front rotors and bigger rear drums will fit without mods. I used to be an ASE certified mech. and I trust my friend, the pedal is not mushy so I don't believe there's any air in the lines. I'm not sure what brand pad is on the fronts now, but it sure isn't stopping the car! Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
