What\'s the best Samurai rear bumper??

Hi there I'm going to buy a new rear bumper for my 1987 Suzuki Samurai and I need the BEST! Who makes the best bumper? I'm thinking the Rocky Road Outfitters Crawler 2 because I can put a spare tire carrier and a gas can rack on it and it comes to under $600. Price is not a concern though. Are there better bumpers out there? Thanks guys!

I've got a Trail Tough rear bumper and am happy with it. I've got the one ready for swing out carriers. I'm planning on making my own swing outs for it though.

Check out Jim Shrock's bumpers. You can find him on this board. Real nice guy, GREAT craftsmanship, and he mentioned plans for a tire carrier & gas can holder.

Re: What\'s the best Samurai rear bumper??

Shrock for sure. He is building the prototype swing away tire carrier now for his rig, and I am going over there to have him build my swing away this weekend! You will find no better customer service anywhere. Great price for a great product. I have attached pics of the rear bumper he did for me. It's not the fancy one with the lights, but it is beefy and functional...

Another vote for Shrock. I have his shrock bars on my rig and they have already protected the bodywork from damage. Soon I hope to have his rigs old bumper on mine and 1 day I'll be getting the tire carrier enchilada

I am getting the full blown billy bad a$$ Shrock rear bumper and tire carrier, but I have to cover up my corvette-ish tail lights.

I need to find that note that said "don't worry Joe it won't cover my tail lights"

Re: What\'s the best Samurai rear bumper??

I know, I know....

But after further consideration and looking at the next mods going on "smokey". I have decided to just go with the regular bumper and whatever Jim dreams up for the swing away. Right now the truck has a 3 inch body lift, that will be coming off when I change the suspension so it will bring the lights down. Oh well... I'll cover up the holes and put the lights in the bumper.
