Poly Bushings Install Hints?

Trying to put poly bushings on my Zuke and really struggling. Any tips/hint on getting them in and getting the shackles on. The shackles are aftermarket and don't seem to be bent in. TIA. Jim

Get some Syl-glide from Napa . It will help get them in and keep them lubed up . The hardest part is getting them started . Just use a small wedge or screwdriver , once the edge of them is in , they'll go .

Re: Poly Bushings Install Hints?

Hmmm, aren't the poly's two piece? If they are, should be easy to install, slide in both sides, tap with hammer and hammer in the sleeve, after it's lubed. Done.
As for your shackles being too narrow, good luck. Need to heat them maybe and bang them open, but that will require a torch and the holes may not line up. Maybe someone else has an idea?

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Poly Bushings Install Hints?

Make sure the inside of the spring is very clean, lube it up and bang it in. As for the shackles, I'm betting that they aren't lining up. It will help if you jack the other side of the rig up an equal amount. This will straighten the ride height and allow the spring to nest inside the shackle.... Hope this helps...
