How do you beef up a Model 18 Dana T-case housing

This is a little outside my normal realm cause it doesn’t come on a sami, but it is a Model 18 Dana Spicer T-case. My one of my crazy friends was practicing hole shots and busted his in to. He picked another one up and wants to beef it up a little. Any tips you have for beefing up this case, adding gussets or something would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
F_T

I'd try to beef it through it's mounts , similar to using a flange output plate like we do on ours .

I agree with Sarge. It's Cast Iron, so if it's welded on improperly, it will crack and break. It's a strong case, no doubt about it, why do you wanna beef it? I've never heard of anyone breaking one.

I think some company was selling a steel girdle for the 18 it bolted around the inspection plate and the back where the over drive would go
here is a dana 20 not a good pix http://www.wt4wheeling.com/welndmn/i...tcaseguard.jpg but if I remember right it covered that hole and wraped around the back to cover the over drive / pto hole as well and was steel
