From manual to electric fuel pump?

I going to change from the manual to electric on one of the sammys. I am staying with the stock carb. Now for the question, When you remove the manual fuel pump, there is 3 lines. Gas line from the tank, gas line for a return, and one to the carb. What are you folks doing with the return gas line? I thought I seen some of a gas filter that had a relieve port on it?
Thanks
Steve

if you wanna talk call me 678-468-8911
but you have to take the lil rod out when you take the manual pump off.
then seal up the hole
i made a braket to put the pump on so it would not vibe my I teeth off i pluged off the return and put a regulator on and i put 2 fuel filters on one before the pump and one before the reg. as for the pressure you should put a tee in and a liquid filled gauge at the carb to keep the pressure steady.

If your mechanical pump isn't completely trashed, just take the rod out and then seal the hole with the original pump, and put the rod in your glove box. That way if the electric pump fails, you are just a few minutes from being back on the road.

Re: From manual to electric fuel pump?

I ran a ((1 in / 2 out)) fuel filter from a Jeep up along my firewall when I installed my 1.6. This has one line in from the tank, one line out to the carb and one line back to the return line. I was told by several custom racers that this will just about act as a regulator and is a LOT less expensive...$3.00 at Pep Boys. I can get a pic of the filter if you want to see one...
