opps, crossing a river

Does anyone from the wasington state area know what laws there are about crossing rivers and streams. I found some nice trails in sultan basin but didn't venture to far because you had to either cross Olney creek or sultan river. And I have heard it is illegal to forge rivers, is this true?

Rivers are public waterways. They are actually one of the few public areas we can wheel here. You HAVE to stay in the riverbed to stay legal since they wind through private property.

I guess YMMV in other states, but I really doubt crossing a creek or river would be illegal.

BE CAREFUL of the salmon police, Seriously call the local forest service i'm pretty sure it's illegal IF you get caught!

Re: opps, crossing a river

Ive been on a few trails up there and been on a couple with river crossings. I dont know about the whole state but the rivers by Liberty and Naches are illegal to cross. The rivers by Rimrock have marked trails with river crossing that are legal.

Best advise was above though, call and check. Then come back and tell us
