Mailing Top Hoop?

I need to put a top hoop in the mail & was wondering if anyone here received or sent one in one piece and if so what mailing service did you use? I inquired at my local UPS, but they were a bit iffy when I descibed it to them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Mailing Top Hoop?

You may be oversize packageing, and that may drive the cost instead of weight. 2 cost estimators to try...

Re: Mailing Top Hoop?

you could cut it in half and when they get it they could slide in a smaller piece of pipe and weld it

Re: Mailing Top Hoop?

I'll get it sent out to you one way or the other on Monday. Looks like I'm going to take a HUGE bite on the shipping though. Refering to a previous post, would you have a problem with it cut in half, like suggested?

Re: Mailing Top Hoop?

i would put a piece of 1 x 2 strip of wood at the open end to keep it from getting squashed closed. and would ship by the post office or if you ship with ups put 200.00 ins when you add more ins with buster brown then you sometimes dont get damages

Re: Mailing Top Hoop?

My Petroworks cage came via UPS bundled together. Just put a label on it, and ship it as is.

Re: Mailing Top Hoop?

ifn it were me, id go to home depot, or circuit city, somewheres where i could get LARGE pieces of cardboard, double layer it and make a custom box, taping the he?? out of it with duck tape and ship it out. ups automatically insures up to $100, they mess it up, ya got a clam out of the deal. they might tack on a *over size* surcharge of $5.oo, thats the surcharge i got for shipping leaf springs last year. $5.00 each.
