Re: Radio Amplifier mounting
I put my amp under the driver's seat. Yes, I know there's a possibility that water could get in and swamp it, but it's a "cheapie" anyway. There just didn't seem to be a better place to mount it. You could install a high-power indash unit and run it without an external amplifier. Or you could put a carpeted box enclosure in the back, and mount your amp directly to the box. For those who may be looking for decent speakers that fit in the factory holes without cutting, go to Radio Shack and look at a pair of 12-1745's. I'm very happy with mine. They sound very good up to about 45 mph. Any faster, and they're drowned out by tire & wind noise. I'm thinking about just using headphones for long highway trips. Then I couldn't hear the tire & wind noise!
