AM-FM/CD for 82-85 SJ410?

Ran into a stone wall on my sterio installation in the 84. Speakers are in, Wire pulled through the rockers correctly, I went to replace the stock radio and found its an orphan. Smaller than standard.

Does any one know if a sligtly smaller than standard, AM/FM/CD is available?

All the sterios I have measured now use a std "DIN" mount that it 2x7. You can fit 'em in the 86 and 88.5 dash, (I checked) but my 84 is 6-3/4 MAX width and the same in depth.

Can't cut enough out to make it fit. Don't want to do an overhead mount as It's not practical with the folding windshield, My cage, when built will be external, and under dash is even less practical in the 410 than a sammy.

It might fit cocked in the glove box, or I could possibly put it on the package tray. I dont care much for either of those options.

I need a smaller unit! Any one know of one? It doesn't need to be a blaster, just adiquate.

This place is kinda pricey, compared to stores I've been to, but its a good reference tool, I know they use to give size info, maybe you can locate something in there then go to a local store ...

oh yeah the site http://www.crutchfield.com/

Yup, I noticed the same thing on my SJ 410. That 410 radio's about 3 inches deep. Good luck finding a CD player that shallow. You might do better putting one in the glove box and leaving the stocker in the dash. That way no punk's going to run off with it when you leave the top off.
