Tire balance ?(with BB\'s)

Hey I've heard of people putting BB (like the type used for a BB gun) in their tires to balance them.
Has anyone here done that?
The reason I ask is cause it would be nice to never have to take my tires/wheels off again to have them balanced

I read an article a while back in 4wheeler magazine about cermanic (?) balancers for big trucks, they were like 250.00 for a set, seems like the BB in the tire is the same idea?
Hope someone has done this so I can get feed back, and this is my daily driver.

Re: Tire balance ?(with BB\'s)

A few of the guys I ride with use golf balls. 3 for a set of 38's. I'm runnin' 33's, but the golf balls are too big to use--specially when aired down for trail use. I know of another guy that has 32's & used a small bag of sand. Both of these have worked very well--I've rode on the interstate in the toy w/ 38's----no vibes @ 75 mph. Either one of these examples cost less than $15 for all 4 tires.

How are they attached on the inside of the tire?

Re: Tire balance ?(with BB\'s)

The shop I work for sells a product called "Counteract". The stuff is eletrostatic plastic beads. It comes in bags of various sizes for use in different sized tires. After it is installed in the tire, the shock waves caused by the tire pounding the road moves the beads to the correct spot for a perfect balance all the time.

This stuff sounds too good to be true, but it works! I've fixed many problem vehicles with the product.

Do you hear the golf balls rolling in the tires whem the vehicle takes off?
Why would it make a difference when you air down? There should be enough room between the tire and inside the rim?
