couple of EFI questions.........

well.....I just changed over my 1.6L 8 valve to EFI and there are a couple of things I am pondering over:

1.) Sometimes the airfilter (box, hose, etc.) make a strange thumping noise as it is pulling in air (almost sounds like a tug boat) and it is really noticable when the headlights or heater is on????

2.) The idle at times is a little rougher than desired???? (I just changed spark plug wires, plugs (cap and rotor) all have less than 1000 miles on them and I cleaned out the EGR valve).......what else should I check???

3.) And sometimes (again, more than desired) when I push in the clutch the idle will drop really low (300-500 rpms) and then go up to normal idle speed????

....anyone with an EFI setup have any suggestions or tips for me - TIA

Re: couple of EFI questions.........

1. I dunno I run an open K&N element.
2. Also dunno, most of them seem to idle a bit rough, it's a 4 cylinder.
3. Mine idles around 500 all the time once it's warmed up.

Did you fix that EGR thingamabob?

HAHAAH, I am the master!
Ground wire please.
10 guage strap from the distrib to the firewall. Check/clean/replace the ground from the battery to the ENGINE/STARTER, and while you're there change/add a ground from the battery to the firewall. The clutch cable is acting as a ground. Carefull, you can nuke that thing if you don't check/replace/clean your cables..
