new to this site and wanted to say hi

hi everyone, i'm new to this site (long time reader, but not much of a poster )and just wanted to say hi. i've owned suzuki for about 14 years now (sj410 + sammi) and now i have a 94 tracker. i'm looking to put a 2" exhaust on it,for more power, but i went to 3 different muffler shops and here's what they said. one said that it would be a waste of money, i won't notice any difference. 2nd said i would only get a 2-5% hp gain. and the 3rd said he would do it for about $500. seems like way too much. is it worth doing this upgrade (power wise) and what should i expect to pay?

also i'm thinking of getting a calmini 2" suspension lift. has anyone else installed this kit? any pros or cons?

Re: new to this site and wanted to say hi

WELCOME

In my opinion putting a 2 inch exhaust helps on the 1.3 and I have heard it helps on the 8 valve 1.6, which you probably have in your Tracker.

You should be able to find an independent muffler shop that will install a 2 inch exhaust for MUCH less than $500. I had a 2 inch exhaust with a cheap turbo muffler installed on my Samurai for $70 US. The average quote from the shops I contacted was a little over $100 though.

I don't know anything about the lift you are considering.
