sorry for the subject line whould not let me post a whole sentance

Well Fri. really stunk all day. 7-26-02

First about 11:30 am I got a call that my Grandfather and past in his sleep he was 84. He had a lot of health problems. So it was not a real shock but, with death their is always a void and sorrow. I also was not able to say goodbye and he lived 500 feet from me. So please everyone stop take 15 min out of your busy day hugg everyone in your house and call all the long distance friends just say hi it might be the last time you talk to them. I found out Wed. night that he had been hurting for a couple of days and he called his brother and told him goodbye and that he was tired of hurting all the time and not being able to do what he wanted to do. And asked him to promise not to call anyone for help.
I hope only to have half of the courage my grand father had at the end of his life.
He will be missed by all

Second my zuk was hit in the rear. By a Chevy Z71. I just had pulled out on the main road and shifted to 4th gear. I was doing about 40- 45 mph when I was hit. I just had LQQKed up in the rear view mirror and saw him just as he hit me. Of coarse my head went back and then forward I LQQKed back in the mirror. It LQQKed like the movie Twister with the cow flying in the air. All I could think of was to punch the gas so he would not hit me again while he was doing 360*s in the road. I stopped about 200 feet from him. He refused to get out or roll the window down. Until the 3rd law officer got there. First an off-duty Atlanta pd. Stopped to help clear the road. The guy in the Z71 refused to clear the road I told the APD guy I could hook a strap to him and drag him anywhere the cop laughed and said if the owner wanted to set just let him.

Then the Georgia State Patrol got there 45 min. later. Then the guy was made to finally get out. Now I know why he would not get out it was the same jerk that gave me big problems at the parts store 2 weeks ago. I guess what comes around goes around. Wed before the melt I went in to get a motor mount. I told him a dodge 318. He asked what year and I told him I dunno. Of course he said with out a year and a model he can't get me anything. Well this was the second time I had been there and the other guy walked in. I said hey I need another one of those mounts. He said no prob. Tap tap tap here you go. The other guy just LQQKed stupid (opps stupider).

Had an estimate done by Suzuki it was 3400.00 give or take. Which by their computer it said to total after 1700.00. Talked to insurance company today will find out more by Friday. Just cross your fingers.
Look at the white paint on the tow hitch and the frame is bent a lil bit. The bumper is bent slightly and the tailgate is bent as well. His tool box was bent by his spare tire and his bummper was pulled out by the wrecker
Below are some pics

First of all, you have my condolances for your loss... It's always a sad event when a loved one passes on, have experienced that myself recently... Just have to remember that he's now in a *much* better place...

Second of all, it sure looks like your zook survived *that* encounter better... Thankfully no injuries involved too... Maybe you should try to make a case that the guy was trying to harm you for making him look stupid... Maybe if he feels a little pressure about it, he'll see the light and stop being a jerk. Probably not but then again it'll at least help you feel better to see them get their just rewards...

Hopefully everything gets worked out with that situation and you get the vehicle all fixed up at the jerk's expense, of course...

Might as well plan on getting screwed, unless it is not your only means of transpo. If it's not then don't sign anything get an attorney and go to chiropractors, orthopedic's, and any other doctor you can think of then sue the living [censored] out of him. I got bling sided by a 50+ yr old who ran the red light and since I needed my car I got screwed and am still paying the price of pain and suffering. Don't get me wrong I am one tough sob but I am only 29 and the older I get the more I hurt from this crap. I wish I would have known what getting smacked would feel like later on.

sorry bout the death man, i know how that is to have someone close leave, and yes, he is in a better place.

well, something doesnt smell right about that guy, i hate it when you can see it coming. i felt like pulling into the other lane like a MATADOR with a bull. but there wasnt enough time for that and just enough to step on the brake, still wasnt enough to stop me from hittin the person infront.

oh, and the girl i hit infront of me, my new bosses niece or daughter, something liek that lol.

maybe you should milk it gazuki

Charles, insurance Cos can be beat. I have in the past and just coached another guy on it for a convertable the "blue book" (what a piece of...) said was worth less.

Get copies of all your recipts.
Collect adds from Izook adds, Ebay, and any other place that showes what its really worth. use the search on Ebay of closed sales of zukes.

They will try to say they only have to pay for a stock zook. WRONG! they have to pay what it would cost to replace with like. Not build it, but certainly market value. The BB is a guide and can, and should, be tossed aside when it is inaduquate. If they give you no relief, well its under 5K so threaten to take 'em to small claims court. They will pay rather than defend, espesially when they know they will lose.

outlaw is right. A friend of mine totalled his Jeep when he ran over a Subaru, and they wanted to give him $800 for it. They wound up giving him $3,600 for it because of the frame-up he did on it.

My condolences on your loss as well.

Man, you're lucky. When my brother was hit, it flipped the Jeep onto it's roof, and he lost a summer recovering from the accident. He was rear ended by a Ford Escort traveling 55 mph (he was stopped).

Sorry Charles about your grandpaw. Know that you miss him.
Did it mess up you frame on the zuk? Also the motor mounts that you ask for are used on a dodge/plymouth darts, valiant dusters in 70 to 72 with a 318.
I just got me a set, now got to put them on. When I clean out my old storage bus, I threw 10 to 15 of them away. But that was before I bought the samurais.
