What does the \"Thermal Switch\" do?

Well, I know how it works. It's located just below the thermostat and has 2 wires coming out of it. (The temp sensor has 1 yellow/wht wire going to it). Mine finally broke off, but doesn't seem to affect anything. What does it regulate or control? Anyone else disconnect theirs?

Re: What does the \"Thermal Switch\" do?

When I went to my Pony carb I disconected all electronic stuff of my motor that was connected to the brain. The sensor your talking about I belive had something to do with the fast idle when it was cold and then when warming up it would idle down the old system...

Re: What does the \"Thermal Switch\" do?

Thanks. I figured it had something to do with that. I have a Weber carb, and most of the extra "stuff" has already been removed. Just wanted to make sure before I totally ripped it out. The FSM isn't real clear on what that does or where it goes.
Oh, check your pm about the stickers.
