YJ Rear Shackle Length (or HELP!!!)

I need to know how long you guys with YJ's in the rear have the shackles??

I'm assuming longer than stock , but how long.....????

I'm waiting.!

checkout azrockcrawler.com look in the tech/lift section. I believe he used a 6" shackle in the rear and a boomerrang upfront.

danny i used a shackle 6 inches form bolt hole to bolt on mine. the total lenthe was i belive 8 -1/2 inches long

I slapped the stock Shackles on and jacked up the spring to see how far ir would compress and the shackle flip back against the frame!!!

So I'll make up some 6" and try them.....

I am in the process of doing mine now as well .I have one side done . I had 1" longer shackles in the rear to begin with. They are leaning at about th 5 oclock position. they are 3" from bolt hole to bolt hale! I bilt my own adepator plates for the fixed end. They seem to be working out pertty good!

I juts spent the last 4 hours extending my damm frame fro the front .. It was hard to decide on how far cuz i coulsnt jack it up far enough.. Well i did it, put the shackle on and dropped it on the floor "WAP!" friggin i was way off and the shackles slammed right foward. Im so ^&(*&()&( mad i wanna cry.. ALl that work for nothing. The only good thing is now i have a good solid spot to weld a new extention on.... [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

Wouldn't it be easier just to modify the spring hanger......

for the front i belive i exteted my front 6-1/2 inches ex.
but mines S/R stold the design off dannyl about year ago LOL!!

yea it will be out there bout that i think D... Spring hamger is modded dude. The Yjs are like 10 inches lonher than the front samis
