moving axle forward 3/4\"

I have a calmini shackle reversal with 30" tires. I'm thinking of moving the front axle forward either 3/4" or 1" (which do ya'll think i should do?) to keep the tires out of the fender wells.

If i move the axle forward, how big of a driveshaft spacer should i get? just get the same size as how far i move it forward? or if i move it forward 3/4", do i need a 1" spacer?

also, which end of the driveshaft do i put the spacer? i think the tcase end, but i don't really have any idea why.

let me know what ya'll think

thanks guys

Re: moving axle forward 3/4\"

I moved mine foreward 1" by drilling the perch 1" back and just bolting everything back on using the new hole.
Now I can run 32s without rubbing..I have a spoa by the way.
You need a 1" spacer if you go with 1" foreward, but a 3/4" would work.
The reason to put it on the t-case side of the d-shaft, is for crossmember clearance. It bumps the u-joint out past the cross member a little.

Re: moving axle forward 3/4\"

just go with rear springs up front, thatll move your axle forward i think... and cjs in the rear,

that was my plan on my set up i got in my mind.
S/R front, rears up front, M/L back, Cjs in rear, and finally SPOA... YIKES!

hey, dont take my plan

and i think this set up will work, since my front springs seem to look kinda slanted, why? i think i installed my s/r wrong LOL! but it works, they look kinda slanted or bent... maybe the springs are just old.

spacers, i would think get a bigger spacer than what you got lift, that still leaves for some slip,

with the S/R can you run rears up front? Won't it move the axle BACK as the fixed end is up front now?

Glenn told me yes you can using the relocation plate that comes with the rear up-front kit. Puts the axle back in the stock location. Jim

Re: moving axle forward 3/4\"

I didn't think I would really notice but the ride really is smoother with the longer springs in front. I would think it would put that shackle at agoofy angle though for the shackle reversal person though.
