Re: Ford 2.0 L Diesel Specs?

for future reference, the ford 2.0 diesel is made by Mazda, and is, in fact the same powerplant as was found as an option in the Mazda 626 in Canada. ( 85 model year)

bore x stroke 3.39" x 3.39" 1998 cc's total displacement
compression: 22.7:1 ( high,even for a small diesel)
oil pressure 58-70 lbs @ 3000 rpm ( which is low for a small diesel)

power specs seem to vary greatly by application - was available in the escort, Merkur XR4Ti, Ford Ranger truck, mazda B2000 trucks, mazda 626, etc - ballpark numbers are 51 HP,@ 4800, and 91 ft./lbs @ 3100. even in europe, there was no turbo version - the block just wont handle it.

no idea on weight, or dimensions, but even by small diesel standards this thing is underpowered.
