GETTING A SAMURAI TOMORROW!!!! But I need help!

Check out this Samurai that I'm picking up tomorrow!!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...mp;r=0&t=0

I can't wait!!! This is going to be so cool. Finally, I'll have a real 4x4 with some serious potential! But I need your help! I need to upgrade this thing bigtime! I want to have the biggest, baddest, and scariest Samurai east of the Mississippi and I need to know what my first upgrade should be!!! I will have about $250 to spend on this truck a month. Any advice? I think I'm going to fix that dented quarter panel and get a new soft top first. What do you guys think?

Re: GETTING A SAMURAI TOMORROW!!!! But I need help!

well, you sorta have your plan of how you want it, now its time to search all the vendor sites and figure out what will fit your plans. Built it in steps, and plan in advance what you will need for the final outcome(ok so it never goes exactly, but close enough) so you wont have to redo things over and over.

Congrats on your buy. Here in Virginia the first thing would have to be a trailer because I don't think we can get a salvaged titled vehicle put back on road. Like all are saying I'd start with a SPOA and save one month of that money to opt for a cross over steering setup. Enjoy the ride.

Thats some big shoes to fill. I live east of the Miss and have seen some pretty big and bad Zukes. LOL. Welcome to the group. Fill out your bio so we know a little 'bout you. Jim

Re: GETTING A SAMURAI TOMORROW!!!! But I need help!

Don't fix the dent! Cosmetic repairs can wait. First, I'd buy a copy of the FSM on CD-ROM. Then fix all of the oil leaks (gaskets, seals & o-rings) and install a shifter sheet. Then do a suspension lift and get tires, wheels, gears, and (maybe) a locker. Then I'd put some armor on it. It's all money well spent for your newest favorite toy, hobby, and obsession. Hope this helps. BTW, welcome to the board!

Re: GETTING A SAMURAI TOMORROW!!!! But I need help!

I am not one to talk but if I could start all over I would start with the motor. If you say you want to make this really big and bad you need to have the power to push the rubber and other aftermarket pieces. After that I would procede to the SPOA and then that is when the fun starts. Welcome aboard and have fun and ask as many questions as you can think of and I am sure this board can help you answer them!!!!!!!!
