OT: Hypothetical Question about selling Zuk part

Sorta Off-Topic question....but I need opinions.

Let's say I'm getting ready to sell a Samurai part. I want to get the most money out of it but I don't want to rip anyone off. I want to offer it here on the BBS first. I have seen this part bring from $150 to $250.

How should I go about doing this?

Well , hypothetically, there are enough people either here or on Ebay to pay what you want , sooner or later . Just state your price , you can always come down if you have to .

Re: OT: Hypothetical Question about selling Zuk part

I'd just sell it on eBay. The people here (no offense) are "thrifty" whereas the people on eBay are willing to spend their dough. I've offered stuff on here for next to nothing and gotten no response and yet, I'll put it on eBay and get 2 to 3 times what I was asking here...

If I am selling something I usually offer it here first. But I have not sold anything rare and would kinda be in your position if I did. I have saved alot of money on here feel like I'm returning the favor. Jim

Jay, I agree with 87zuke. I've saved a lot of money buying parts from the good people on this board. I'd like to return the favor. If I were you, I'd offer it here for what I thought it was worth, then put it on ebay if it didn't sell. HTH

Re: OT: Hypothetical Question about selling Zuk part

Hope I'm not starting something here that I shouldn't, but you could offer it here on a bidding format. Describe the item and let others reply with a bid. It wouldn't be private but then no one would feel they're getting ripped off. (no insinuation or offense intended). If you have a flat amount you want, then just offer that, first come-first served, on the BBS.
Otherwise, go with Ebay. I've had good success there both in buying and selling.

Bidding format....???

Well I was thinking about this. I want to make sure it doesn't break any writen or unwritten rules. This BBS isn't here to conduct an auction.

But if there are no objections...it would be a great way to sell my part. The highest bidder at the end of a specified time would win.

Well?
Comments??? or complaints???
