Toyota pitman arm removal

I just picked up my 79 celica ps stuff. I know I have to rotate the pitman 180 degrees. This thing has a massive nut (what's the size?) and I'm worried that it's going to be a bitch to get this thing off. Any secrets or take it to a machine shop?

For those nuts, I always use a big pipe wrench with a 3-foot piece of pipe slipped over the handle. For the arms, I use a pittman arm puller. You can buy one or rent one from Autozone. HTH

Re: Toyota pitman arm removal

Actually, the toy pitman arm is WAY easier to remove than a Samurai pitman arm. The big nut is the only obstacle. Get a pitman puller for the arm and you won't have to wrestle with it 1/2 as much as a Zuk would require.
